Accessible Trails in HRM

All trails that are wheelchair accessible have been marked for 2km return trip on the following trails. These trails have been checked on site by a person who uses a manual wheelchair.

Users need to leave the Sackville Sports Stadium parking lot at the top end and travel by sidewalk for a few metres to access the beginning of the trail. The trail is fairly steep at that location, but otherwise is on a level route along the lake.

Trail from the Kinsmen parking lot is a bit steep, but level out on the main trail along First Lake.

This is a widened sidewalk on the south side of Beaufort Ave, Halifax. Access points are multiple, so there is no civic address. The trail begins at the intersection at South Street and ends at Marlborough Woods, either end could serve as a drop point

The parking lot is crusher dust, not pavement, so there are no wheelchair parking spaces. If the person in a wheelchair has a van with an extended ramp, it would be a good idea to park in a place that gives adequate space to deploy the ramp and where another car cannot park too close.
